Jesus said “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH ME”. John 14:6

I. IF YOU WERE TO DIE RIGHT NOW, ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU WOULD GO
TO HEAVEN?

John 3:16 says: “That God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

God loved us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His only Son to give us life. The Word of God says it is not thru religion, not by being good, nor by attending church every Sunday that will assure us of heaven. In the book of Ephesians we read:

”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” Ephesians 2: 8,9

This means we need to receive the FREE GIFT of God, His name is JESUS. The Gospel of John chapter 3 verse 3 says, “Truly, Truly, I say to you unless you are born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” To be born again means a new beginning, a brand new person.

II. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?

You start by recognizing that there is something missing in your life, no matter how you try to fill it with the things of the world. You must realize that you are a sinner in need of a savior; someone to come and rescue you. The Bible says:

“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 3:23; 6:23

However, we do have a way out, His name is JESUS. He paid the price on the cross for your sin because He knew there was no other way. Jesus Himself said:

“I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER, EXCEPT THROUGH ME.” John 14:6

This is why you need to repent. Repent means to make a decision to change, have a change of heart and mind, renounce your sin and turn from it. Do not wait to be “cleaned up” to come to God but come and He will change you through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God says in 2 Peter 3:9:

“That God is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but He is PATIENT toward you, not wishing for anyone to perish but for ALL to come to repentance.”

III. DO YOU THINK THAT YOUR SIN IS TOO GREAT FOR GOD TO FORGIVE?

Our God is a Big God, not only does He forgive ALL sin (murder, abortion, stealing, drugs, drinking, gambling, anger, lust, fornication, hatred, unforgiveness, slander, gossip, lying, greed, witchcraft, occult, etc.) but He also forgets ALL sin once it is repented of. Scripture says in Hebrews 10:17,18:

“Their sin and lawless acts I will remember no more. Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.”

This means you do not need to have guilt. When you receive Jesus into your heart God forgets your sin. It will be a part of your past because your sins will have been washed away by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

FATHER IN JESUS’ NAME I CONFESS TO YOU THAT I HAVE SINNED, I BELIEVE THAT YOUR SON JESUS DIED FOR ME AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD SO THAT I MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. I ASK JESUS TO COME INTO MY HEART AND MAKE HIM LORD OF MY LIFE. AMEN.

Remember question #1? If you were to die right now are you absolutely sure you would go to heaven? What would the answer be now?

1 John 5:10-13 tells us that if we have the Son and believe in Him, we know that we have eternal life now. In the Gospel of John chapter 10 verses 27 and 28 Jesus says:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow
Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand.”

As Scripture tells us we need to study the Word of God and fellowship with other believers. It needs to be a church that teaches repentance, the power of the cross, salvation, and how to go on with God. Many new Christians fall away because they put off following through after they receive Jesus. Do not let this happen to you. There are people who care about you and are willing to help you get started.

JESUS IS GOD!

Jesus in His earthly ministry showed His equality with God by forgiving sins, receiving worship and being bodily raised
from the dead, as He said He would be on His own authority. (John 10:17,18). This shows his divine authority since only God is able and worthy to say and do so.
